At Camp Endeavor, we embrace a uniquely wholistic approach to weight management for youth between the ages of 9 - 17 years. Our philosophy is based upon the experience and research of nutritionists, exercise physiologists, psychologists and adults who have succeeded in their own weight management.

Our programming encompasses a broad spectrum of experiences and education in the areas of lifestyle habits, including movement, healthy eating and creating new behavior patterns in our life.

Having fun at Camp EndeavorThe physical (body) components include:

  • Movement and play in non-competitive games and outdoor recreation.
  • Participating in specially-designed fitness activities.
  • Developing skills for selected sporting activities.
  • Becoming more comfortable with our own bodies, how they look, feel and the ease with which they move.
  • Improving muscle flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and endurance.
  • Health Care Concerns

The mind (mental) components will be presented in small groups, be discussion-based and short in duration. These "educa-bits" (educational bits) include:

  • The impact of the dining environment on eating habits and weight management.
  • Uncovering or seeing through advertising.
  • Creating effective change to sustain weight goals and other lifestyle habits.
  • Sensible portion sizes and nutritious foods.

The spirit (emotional) components include:

  • Practices to impact eating and overeating.
  • Learning positive ways to accept & nurture one's self.
  • Discovering protective responses to hurtful language.

But, first and foremost, your child will be regarded as a camper, one who will enjoy all the outdoor activities, cabin living, fun and new friends that make summer camps the rich, memory-filled experience of youth across the nation!
